Problems logging in or submitting entries
- Q: What should I do if I encounter a problem at the second chance web site? A: Please go to the FEEDBACK page to let us know what problem you are experiencing. We will assist you via return email. The more details you can provide about your problem, the better chance we will have of quickly resolving the problem.
- Q: When I try to submit entries, I get transferred back to the log-in page. Why is this happening? A: Some firewalls or security settings on your PC may prevent you from logging in successfully. For example, your PC setting must be enabled to receive cookies. There have also been occasions where having too many Windows applications open will interfere with the log-in. For assistance, use the FEEDBACK page to let us know what problem you are having and any error messages you are seeing on your PC; and we'll be happy to provide technical assistance.
- Q: I tried to submit an entry and got a message that the ticket has already been entered. How can that be if I have the ticket in my hand, and what should I do? A: As to how it can happen, occasionally a player will inadvertently make a typing mistake when submitting their entry, and won't double-check to make sure the number they entered is the same as the number on their ticket. All tickets will be automatically verified upon entry to confirm they are valid ticket entries. As to what to do: First, check your list of previously submitted entries at the bottom of the page where you submit your entries to make sure that the ticket has not already been entered by you. If it is not on your list of entries, use the FEEDBACK page email to notify us as soon as possible. Please include any ticket number for which you received the "already been entered" message.
- Q: I made a typing mistake when I submitted my entry. How do I check for and correct entry errors? A: All entries that you submit will be automatically verified upon entry. If you make a mistake while typing and enter an invalid entry, you will receive a message stating “You are attempting to enter an invalid ticket number. Entry number: XXXXXXXXX-XXXX.” Please check the number on your ticket and try typing it in again. Also, all your entries are kept on a list found at the bottom of the page where you submit your entries. Please verify that the ticket hasn’t already been entered by you.

Questions about entries and tickets
- Q: Can I enter a drawing more than once? A: YES! You may enter a drawing as many times as you wish, however, each entry requires the use of separate qualified tickets.
- Q: What happens to the ticket entries that do not get picked in a drawing? Are they retained for future drawings? A: Yes, entries not selected as winners in any one drawing will be entered into the next scheduled drawing.
- Q: What happens if I submit my entry after the deadline for the drawing? A: If there is another second chance drawing scheduled for the game, your entry will be eligible for that drawing. Any entries submittd after the final drawing deadlines are disqualified.
- Q: I have tickets that I can't remember whether or not I have entered in the drawing. How can I see what tickets I have entered? A: Each time you submit an entry, a record of your entry appears on the page titled "YOUR ENTRIES". The "YOUR ENTRIES" link can be found in the menu links located on the top of each page when logged in to the site. All of your entries appear on that list for your information and reference, so you can check the list against the tickets you are holding.
- Q: How can I be sure that my Internet entry has been submitted? A: Each time you submit an entry, a record of your entry appears on the page titled "YOUR ENTRIES". The "YOUR ENTRIES" link can be found in the menu links located on the top of each page when logged in to the site. If the entry is recorded there, you can be assured that it is in the system.
- Q: Can I throw away the tickets after I have entered them into a drawing? A: No, that's the last thing you want to do! Hang on to the tickets that you have entered and keep them safe. If you are selected as a winner in a drawing, you will need to provide the original ticket that made up your winning online entry in order to claim your prize. We recommend that you retain the tickets for at least 60 days following the final drawing. Even if you do not win a prize, you could be selected as an alternate if a prize winner is disqualified. If you are selected as an alternate winner, you will need to produce the ticket in order to claim your prize.
- Q: I live out of state. Am I eligible to enter the second chance drawings? A: Yes. There are no restrictions for out-of-state players who choose to mail in their entries. Please see the registration page for restrictions on Internet entries.
- Q: Are my chances of winning better if I mail in my entries? A: The odds of winning are exactly the same whether entering via U.S. Mail or the Internet. Each entry has an equal chance of winning regardless of the method of entry.
- Q: Can I double my chances to win by entering tickets on the Internet and then mail them in as an entry? A: No. Internet entries are not eligible to be mailed in, and vice versa. You need to hold on to the tickets that you enter on the Internet because you will need to produce the actual ticket you entered in order to claim your prize, if you're selected as a winner in the drawing.
- Q: I would rather mail in my tickets. How do I do that? A: Check the RULES page or the back of the ticket for instructions on how and where to mail in your entry.
Questions about winners
- Q: How do I find out if I have been selected as a winner? A: The Rhode Island Lottery will make the initial contact with the selected winners via phone and/or email.
